Community Solutions Welcomes The Cardboard Box Company as our Fourth Patron

08th June 2021

Community Solutions North West are pleased to announce that we have welcomed our fourth patron, Clayton based The Cardboard Box Company.

The Cardboard Box Company join NORI HR and Employment Law, Liz Pollard from Bold Moves Coach and WHN Solicitors who have all joined the patron scheme after it launched in late 2019.

“We are really pleased to have been able to make The Cardboard box Company one of our official patrons” says Deborah Clark, CEO of Community Solutions. “The Cardboard Box Company have been supporting us since 2019, when they generously donated items for our summer fair followed by boxes and promotional materials for our hospital visiting service, Visit Me. Last year they supported us with more boxes for our welfare packs and Christmas campaign which saw us distribute wellbeing packs and essential items to 500 households. We know how busy they have been over the last twelve months and we really appreciate all their support, time and effort to help us reach more people than ever.’

“We first connected with Community Solutions at a local networking event and upon hearing about the work they did in the area we knew we wanted to support them. Hearing about everything they do makes us feel very humble. We are a successful business in the area and feel that is really important to support local people in need” said Ken Shackleton of The Cardboard Box Company. “It is a privilege to be able to help them, help others in the local community and to know that we are helping Community Solutions to make a real impact.”

Tom Penman, Graphics Manager at The Cardboard Box Company said “It is great to be able to work on a project that makes such an impact, and it makes for a very rewarding task. We are lucky to be able to work on lots of fantastic design projects, but the team feel a real sense of satisfaction when they know what a difference it can make to others”.

Community Solutions North West launched their Patron scheme in 2019 and are currently looking to expand the offer and welcome new patrons. The charity supports people across East Lancashire to live healthier, better lives and particularly those who are lonely, socially isolated or in crisis. They offer a range of befriending and mentoring services, crisis support, employability programmes, training and therapeutic interventions including counselling and bereavement support. Over the last ten years they have supported over 40,000 people and their families, with 2020 being tougher than ever due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are seeking new patrons to help support us in the coming years. Our patrons support us in several ways including volunteering their time, donating their services or fundraising for us. Our patrons have helped us to connect with many other local businesses and organisations and we really appreciate everything they do for us. Becoming a patron is a great way to give something back to your community and make a real difference to local people, and it can really boost employee engagement too” – Leanne Taylor, Enterprise Development Manager.
