Amanda and Steve recently completed the 125 km Alta Via 1 trek in the Italian Dolomites, raising funds for Community Solutions North West.
We are thrilled to share the inspiring journey of Amanda and Steve, who recently completed the challenging 125 km Alta Via 1 trek through the stunning Italian Dolomites. Their adventure was more than just a personal challenge; it was a heartfelt effort to raise funds for Community Solutions North West, a Lancashire-based charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable and isolated individuals. Community Solutions North West provides a range of crucial services, including financial assistance, bereavement support, counseling, and training. These services are made possible largely through the dedication of volunteers who generously donate their time to help those in need. Amanda, initially anxious about the trek, faced the daunting task of carrying their gear throughout the journey. Unlike expeditions where equipment is transported separately, they had to carry everything themselves. The trek included two particularly challenging days where they covered distances of 20 km, navigating uphill walks that tested their endurance and determination. Despite these challenges, Amanda and Steve were buoyed by the support they received from friends, family, and the community. They are eager to share their experiences and express their gratitude for the encouragement and donations that have helped further the mission of Community Solutions North West.
