Men’s Social Group Explores WW1 History with Local Historians

October 30, 2024

Our men’s social group had the unique opportunity to explore a rich display of WW1 history, thanks to local historians Josephine and Linda.

Today, our men’s social group had the honor of exploring a captivating display of WW1 history, thanks to local historians Josephine and Linda. Over two days, they shared a wealth of information, celebrating the bravery of local heroes, and our group was fortunate to join in on the Thursday.

For many in the group, including some veterans who have served in the armed forces, the visit was a deeply meaningful experience. The collection of photos, artifacts, and stories gave them an opportunity to reflect on their own histories, connecting with both the past and each other in a powerful way.

We’d like to express our heartfelt thanks to the Church and Oswaldtwistle Royal British Legion for their continued support, especially for our veteran members. The visit was a beautiful blend of history, community, and remembrance that made the experience even more special.
