Be the friendly face someone needs
As a 1-1 Befriender, you’ll provide vital companionship and emotional support to individuals facing isolation or life challenges. Whether someone is coping with bereavement, a health diagnosis, or a major transition, your presence can make all the difference.
Through regular meet-ups, you’ll help build confidence, offer reassurance, and create a sense of connection. This role is perfect for compassionate listeners who want to support others in a meaningful way. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Volunteer overview
1-1 Befrienders provide short to medium-term support for individuals experiencing isolation or emotional difficulties. By offering companionship and a listening ear, you’ll help people navigate significant life transitions with confidence and reassurance.
Role details
As a befriender, you’ll meet with individuals in the community to provide emotional support during key life changes, such as bereavement, health diagnoses, or job loss. Your role is to build trust, offer guidance, and help people regain confidence and connection.
